They’ve made a serious difference to reviewing bets and placing bets over the past few months.
]]>Hi Lee
Yes, absolutely.
In the image, I have selected Hcap ‘No’ and a distance range (Any to 7f).
I’ve then clicked the Distance title to sort by that.
Hope that clarifies,
Matt
I’m a tipster in my spare (sometimes most of my) time and the most difficult thing I find is becoming obsessed with the practice of finding horses and backing them. It pays to take time off and think about other things, not just four-legged animals running around a field.
The main thing to learn is that you cannot win on every single race. People come into this and think they’ll win every bet. A target of 1 in 5, 20% strike rate, is a realistic aim which I use. It means you lose 4 out of 5 bets but so long as you’re betting at positive expected value then you’ll make a profit eventually, which is the whole point!
Take it seriously but not so seriously that it becomes detrimental. Backing horses to win is about a leap of faith. It’s a risk and there is always built-in uncertainty so you must be able to deal with that element.
]]>Another thing i always do is analyse my bets after the event to see what went right and what went wrong? I do this when walking the dogs or when in the bath. You need to learn from what you did. I am always keen to confirm to myself that whatever happened I got value in regard to odds on my bet. You must do that.
I am fortunate now that I have two pensions and a rental property that gives me a decent income without betting. But I still set targets, in 2020 it is £20,000 profit from all bets. You need a hard target to get you in the groove and to care about it enough. ‘Skin in the game’ as Taleb would say.
]]>Not there yet, Eddie. Any day now, though. I was a little ‘previous’ in putting the Guide up.
Of course, I’ll be sure to make an announcement when it’s there, and apologies for the confusion – my fault.

]]>Has sectional data been added? I can see its on the guide but can’t see an option to turn it on on my geegeez page?
